2010 NASCAR announced today the schedule for the three national series, which will open the season at Daytona International Speedway on the weekend 12-14 February, and closes at Homestead-Miami Speedway on the weekend 19-21 November.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will again have a 36-game schedule beginning with the Daytona 500 on February 14, plus two “no-points” events – the Budweiser Shootout February 6th at Daytona, and May 22 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Other important dates for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series include:

June 27 and 19 September at New Hampshire Motor Speedway every opening in the “Race to the Chase” and “NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase”, Coca-Cola 600 on May 30 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway; brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 25 and the annual “Chase cut-off race at Richmond International Raceway on September 11.

NASCAR Nationwide Series will again race 35 times, while the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will again be 25 activities, including one of the most interesting additions to the schedule in the series’ 15-year history: a new event at Pocono Raceway’s 2; 5 – mile triangular track to have July 31 as a companion to one of the traditional two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend there. Pocono race truck that will be the only new event in one of the three series’ schedule. The truck is in the instead of the series’ last event in February Auto Club Speedway.

There will be some significant “drag” events in 2010, compared with the current season schedule.

In the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series:

• Qualifying for the Daytona 500 will be held on Saturday, February 6 on the same day Budweiser Shootout. Previously, in the qualifying was held after the firefight that day.

• The first season will be the Dover International Speedway on May 16 before the All Star race and Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Dover has traditionally followed two weeks in a row to stop in Charlotte.

• Phoenix International Raceway’s first race will be on 10 April for the Texas Motor Speedway’s first event April 18. Previously, first left Texas was in April.

• Also, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has four “off” weeks, including the traditional Easter holiday on 4 April.
